Are you suggesting that the future fate of the race could depend on profound wisdom uncovered in this thread and they have sent back time travelers to assure we don't muck it up ;)

In a nutshell, yes :D

I did some screen prints of this topic yesterday and compared them this morning. Some of the text has changed.

Something funny is definitely going on. I lost an ego c atty this afternoon and found it last week!

Time Travel - Tricky.

It depends how you view time. If we are at the 'Front' of the line, i.e. our 'present' is the 'real present' then time travel to the future shouldn't be possible because it's course hasn't been determined yet. Unless you can travel forward in time to one of infinite possible futures. Can't see it though.

Travelling backwards in time could just be a matter of how fast you travel. If you are travelling at 100 mph it will take 1 hour to travel 100 miles. If you travel twice as fast, you get there in half the time (unless you use the M25). So if you travel fast enough you might be able to get to a particular point before you left.

I don't think this would work , based on my O level maths knowledge.

The only way to do it would be via a wornhole, or maybe bending space (like they did in Event Horizon, although it wasn't used for time travel in that film, or was it???)

This is the very reason I told my daughter not to mess with time travel!

Read a few of Hawkings books. Makes for interesting reading :)

I've never read anything bt Stephen Hawking and was surprised how easy to read that article was. I was expecting a lot more quantuq fizziks type jargon.

Of course, it might have been dumbed down for The Mail.

Are his books similarly easy reading?

:o Thursday? I'm going to screen print this message and check it again tomorrow / yesterday.

Another good film (that was on telly last week) - Surrogates.

In a nutshell - Future, Bruce Willis, people scared to go out, use android / cyborg (surrogate) bodies remotely controlled from home, nasty weapon killing surrogate controllers via the surrogate, Brucey is a cop investigating, helicopter crash, chasing.

I dont read the mail, I was basing what I said from his books. Some are more taxing than others but none seem totally alien.
