Title: Ebarron pro
Post by: Gazrick on July 21, 2013, 08:10:36 PM
Just worked out I need no resistance wire for the ebarron pro lol. I'm a tad confused of how this works if anyone can help? It's not arrived yet so got a while to learn.
So only the coil should be resistance wire? And I just twist the non res to it and put that through the holes?
Sorry if I sound dumb lol but never used non res not sure where to get it. 😔

Yes mate pretty much that. I started off twisting then got hold of a wire welder. Makes the job so much neater, once you have got the Han of zapping anyway.

Also to get no res wire pop over to the vape mesh company. Got some .2 nickel to zap onto my .2 kanthal.

I tend to buy the pre built coils for this as they seem to last ages and I'm lazy and have sausage fingers

Hi Gazrick,

You can get 99.99% silver wire (i.e. "no-res"istance wire) from almost any established industrial wire company, along with any other Stainless Steel product (e.g. mesh,cables,etc.).  Many also offer Kenthal (both wire and ribbon).

Industrial-use prices are usually lower than high street retail (or even some "wholesale") prices, but the purchase volumes required usually preclude the small buyer from benefitting from these. Fortunately, there are industrial companies that set up smaller "trade arms"...

Try a company like this one, based in Warrington :

e.g. of :

no-res wire:

(they have other sizes, and in any length ...: http://www.wireandstuff.co.uk/products/Silver-99.99--Jewellery-Wire-1.html (http://www.wireandstuff.co.uk/products/Silver-99.99--Jewellery-Wire-1.html))

Other stuff they carry which may be of interest:

Stainless Steel mesh:
(you can buy in sizes like B5,A4,A3,etc.  Or, if you're in the mood/have a need(!), you can even buy rolls of over 50 metre lengths of the stuff,I suppose...

selection of SS meshes: http://www.wireandstuff.co.uk/products/E-Cigarette-Super-Fine-Mesh-Sheets.html (http://www.wireandstuff.co.uk/products/E-Cigarette-Super-Fine-Mesh-Sheets.html)

Silica Wick & Ekowool:

http://www.wireandstuff.co.uk/products/Silica-Wick-and-Ekowool.html (http://www.wireandstuff.co.uk/products/Silica-Wick-and-Ekowool.html)

Kanthal and Nichrome wire: (AND kanthal ribbon)
nb: this link belongs to same company, just a different "arm", targetting  the vaping community (they also use the alias of "vape-atomizer-mesh.com")...

start here, and scroll through their items, and pricelist: --> http://themeshcompany.co.uk/acatalog/25-micron-super-fine-mesh.html (http://themeshcompany.co.uk/acatalog/25-micron-super-fine-mesh.html)

Enjoy.

ps. for postage I've just used Royal mail, 2nd class - stuff takes a few (3-4) days to get to me,  sometimes a week. depending on which day I buy online...

Just watched pbusardos review of this on YouTube, he uses only resistance wire and it works just fine. Is there need for no res?

You can use just resistance wire but the overall resistance will be higher than you aim for.

Hi gazrick, just for the pot, I know Mev makes and sells the zappers that bind the no-res and res wire together which probably saves time and cut fingers. You can see Scott using one in his Ithaka review - they're in a shop here too:

Just a note, the zapper doesn't work with the silver no res wire, it is too soft and just blows the end off (not a fault with the zapper but the wire itself). You need to use nickel wire.

I rebuilt mine with res wire and it worked but the unit gets hot quickly unless I built it wrong

Was going to suggest that aswell mate if it was new. Don't let it put you of them though. Are they going to send a replacement?

Yeah they have sent a new one out today, just upsetting lol made for the provari and fits on everything else... Some people would question my provari threads but everything else works fine on it...
