Title: Battery/Voltage Question
Post by: estelle on October 06, 2011, 02:04:38 PM
I was very kindly given a torch mod which I believe is a 3.7v, it came with an 18500 1600mah 3.7v battery, my question is would it be possible to use it at a higher voltage preferably 5 by using different/more batteries?

not 5volt ,,,but you could put a couple of cr2 batts in it and vape at 6volts

well they are torch batteries so you might get lucky buying them out of a shop, but the prices seem to be a lot less when you buy them from an e cig vendor though.

i've always avoided 6v vaping so better ask someone else,   if you are going to stack batteries then yeah get protected ones.

Can I ask why?
I'd prefer to be able to use it at 5v like my box mod, been using it at 3.7 and it's just not doing it for me  ::) I think 6 is probably gonna be too much?

Thanks anyway  :)

I was a big fan of 6v vaping back with standard resistance attys, buy upping the v with old attys I was able to squeeze a lot of extra life from the attys. Now with LR attys and cartos I don't find myself vaping above 5v.

Safety with stacking batts. Always marry batts in pairs - if 1 batt gets weak bin them both and move on mixing new batts with old batts increases the chance of batt failure and possibly a small explosion. I would also suggest protected batts as a back up safety ;)  That said, I felt confident in my gear and would comfortably vape at 6-7 v again if I ever had to break out some of the never used back up 510 attys I have laying around, I really liked the performance ;D
