Title: Start of a hybrid
Post by: eddy-r3 on August 14, 2013, 10:49:43 PM
Hey all (been a while!) Been away for a few days.

Anyways spent a few hours in shed this evening (garage really) on the lathe starting what is to be a hybrid of some sorts. No idea how its going to turn out, no diagram just on the cuff so a whim and a prayer really!

Managed to get the battery section done and the atomiser body done with o-rings and what not. Need to drill holes fot the wick and negative, make centre post and we should be getting there. Will do a bit more in morning and see how it goes! :)

Thanks all :)

Bit of an update, managed to get the negative post and the wick hole sorted. Just need to make some insulators, a filling hole and a centre post.....and we're getting there!

Thanks Guys! Im doing what i can, when i can, bogged down with work at the moment! So its all a little slow, and managed to get some brass rod snap clean off in a die, so awaiting a new die (granted, it was an M2x0.4 die and a small 2mm brass rod, so easy done!) But need it for centre post. I was so close to having it done, then snap.....but anyway, thats a different story!

looking good, Eddy. What are you doing for the top cap - one piece, or cap and drip tip? Have you got the fire button sorted - can't see from the photos. is it an M2 screw for the negative and what size hole for the wick to pass through. Sorry for so many questions. i'm making notes for a future venture myself

Hi Marshallar

1) Will be top cap and seperate drip tip (i think all in ones are a bit ugly, personal preference)
2) M2 screw for negative terminal yes (Metric standard M2 x 0.4)
3) Small wick hole (again preference, more wraps of coil on a smaller wick whilst having lower resistance) so went with 2.5mm

Bottom button will be done next week, had a problem with lathe which ive now fixed, but busy weekend and what not! :)

Its not really a scale image to be honest, just something i knocked up, more so for a design rather than a life like :)

I will do a scale image tomorrow, it will be a small mod...

make the mod that you would want to use mate that the important thing here if it your dream mod then it going to be good. the logo and name are very cool indeed Eddy. the driptip is a little odd looking but over all looks to be one hell of a mod mate ;D
