i heard this today from a supplier i know:-

"Hi Scott,

just in case you are not aware, the deadline has been put back 1 month by the MHRA,offically due to the election, i spoke yesterday with them and they are now saying that any conclusion from the public consultation would be a few months away!!!!"

sounds "kinda" positive doesnt it?  well, at least a bit more time i guess, lol    :D

Just delaying the inevitable probably.  :(

I knew it had been delayed, interesting to see that any conclusions would be a few months away though, especially given Option 1.

Could someone clear this up for me please.

If nicotine containing products are banned (which I think will happen) would we
still be able to buy nicotine liquid from abroad ?

Hi mate, and welcome to the forum!   :D

the ban will only stop suppliers selling e-liquid, carts etc directly within the UK.............so the majority of suppliers will simply move their business abroad as it wont be illegal to import e-liquid etc to their customers   ;)

so really, the worst case scenario is that we will have to wait an extra day or so for delivery and have increased postage costs to pay...............but its better than going without!  :D

cheers,

scott

I'd heard something similar, that one or two suppliers would move to GErmany for sales, but ship and manufacture in the UK. :)

Why would they move the manufacturing back to the UK or have I read that wrong?

I can see all e-cig vendors ending up in somewhere like Antigua. At least the blackjack is rigged ok over there.

It does happen. Golden Virginia make their tobacco in the UK, ship it to Belguim, you can then go to Belguim and buy it cheaper than you can buy it in the UK and they're still making a profit. Something to do with less or no tax and duty on exports.
It's quite feasible to manufacture e-cigs and liquid nicotine in the UK then export them abroad. You can then buy from abroad by going to said country or via the postal network and the goods could actually work out cheaper even with increased P&P. The most popular country for this is Jersey.

As I forsee it, IF any ban is applied (and I think it may be at best delayed given the new government) the actual sale (selection, purchase and final payment) will be made legally from a web site based 'abroad'.  The goods can be posted out within UK.  WHO will check the content of that brown jiffy for goods dispatched within UK to a UK address?  Or for that matter, WHO will check the content of that Jiffy to you from China?  Btw, any ban I understand will only apply to nicotine containing products like e-liquids and pre-filled carts, but yer regular 'e-cig' accessories should be unaffected?

Well, I guess they can ban the import of e-liquid and it's personal use, which would mean, even if you would go to China yourself to stuff your backpack with 50L of juice you'd get arrested at UK border.

Anyway - I don't believe there will be any ban. Keep your minds up - it helps :D
