'vaping' advert to be shown on TV

First e-cigarette 'vaping' advert to be shown on TV

While e-cigarette adverts have been on television for some time, showing the device itself was banned until a change in advertising rules which came into force overnight.
However, the Committee of Advertising Practice has ruled that adverts must not show tobacco "in a positive light"....
The new advert will be shown after the watershed and run for five weeks....
The BMA said it was encouraged that the decision will be reviewed after 12 months "as advertising regulation must match changes in the market."

the tobacco in e-cigarettes,  presumably ...

It could be argued that vaping tobacco as oppose to smoking tobacco, could be seen as a way of presenting tobacco in a positive light.

Just saw a bit about it on the lunchtime news and the woman they had on there was pushing the pharma solution. She said they had been tested and were safer. She failed to work out that both have nicotine in them when saying that ecigs had nicotine in them which was harmful  :))
