0.4 ohms with Efest battery's. Is it safe.
« on: January 24, 2014, 02:25:55 PM »

Iv'e made a coil, and am using Efest battery's. It vapes nice, but i don't want to take any unnecessary risks. ( Or is that what sub-ohm vaping is Risky)   The coil when checked came out at .4 ohs, but when you calculate if its a new battery @ 4.1 volts thats 42 watts & 10.25 amps.  Even at 3.7 volts, it still works out at 34.2 watts 9.25 amps. IS THIS UNSAFE.   Thanks.    8)

safe or not is down to competence of the user.

i personally, wouldn't want or need to ever go so low as 0.4 ohms, but its down to individual preference.
i believe efest imr batteries will cope with such low resistance mind (so long as not *350 size)

Thanks, that is good enough for me. I guess it was just an experiment, personally i have never gone below 1.4 ohms. That is what i generally vape at, i have discarded that coil now. I don't think its the kind of vaping is for me.  Thanks again.   8)

I personally think sub ohm vaping is a bit extreme and is pushing the capacity of any battery.

risk runs relative to extreme.

sub-ohm coiling is extreme from the offset so risk runs accordingly.
0.4 ohm would be regarded as hyper extreme.
there'd be very few, if any, responsible vapers who'd advise anyone but a seriously experienced vaper to take such risk.

Found this the other day, has a few different batteries, if this helps.

Personally dont do sub ohm not worth the risk,  and advise use at own risk
(as Ged said, if at all unsure dont risk it)

Efest are making a new range of batteries which will have an amp limit of 30A or 60A that can last for 75 seconds.......should be the better choice for the ultra sub ohm vapers :)

First of all i want to thank you all, i was told by the guy in the shop last week my battery's were safe. The Efest-18650 (1600 mah) is good for 30 amp, he did make a point of telling me this.  Before this thread started i had never tried building a coil that low, but needed advice from people like yourself's. I no now its not for me anyway, i just purchased a Steamboy Genesis style RDA, ITS A "STORM RIDER 2.1 GENESIS ATOMISER CLONE" Built a nice 4/5 28 gauge kantal, came out at 1.4.   Very happy with it.                         ..By the way Great video Scott on the ( REVIEW OF THE STORM RIDER 2.1 GENESIS ATOMIZER ) Also thanks Itsmeitis, Cap12b, Wyrm1973, and Scott, for all you helpful comments.  It was really helpful.      :thanks    ...         8)
