I was a big fan of ss mesh in the past, but I find that sweeter flavours are nicer with cotton, being somewhat overcooked on ss mesh.

Also , building microcoils for cotton is so much easier. Roll in on a drill bit, burn it the usual way, squeeze it with tweezers, then I would kink the lower wire while it is stI'll on the drill bit to match the connection to the deck, put it in place with the drill bit. Then the final adjustment to make sure the coils are touching can be done by firing the mod(drill bit removed of course) but instead of tweezers I use the smallest screw driver I have or a pin. While the coil is red hot I push it slightly from the bottom up and from the top down. This seals the coil, while it's hot it just sticks together for a nice even glow. Doing this with tweezers will shorten it, so only touch it on one side at a time.
