Old wick
« on: August 08, 2013, 05:38:53 PM »

Hey guys, maybe an obvious answer, but can an old wick/coil make juice taste different? Noticed that my juice just isnt the same lol the wick must be 2 weeks old and the coil is a few days, i recently took the wick out, cooked it over a flame for a bit got it red hot and popped it back in, just juice seems to taste different!

Any thoughts?

as long as the mesh hasn't perished, a re-flame would generally bring it back to near new - i've been able reuse quite a few mesh wicks by re-torching them.

I thought along the same lines Ged, it was perished and looked "ok" to be honest, but ill try a new wick and coil either way and see how i get on, could just be me! LOL :)

But vapor also seems a little down to, hence the question really!

ive had the same wick for about 3 months, ever since i got my aga t2. admittedly ive  burned it a few times, recoiled it once or twice, but i dont vape it all day, everyday. its still delivering the goods. ive got new mesh and ribbon ready to go,but as my old dad used to say "if its not broke lad, dont f**king fix it.
wise words.

I'm totally new to all this but found my first attempts did a bit of this. I don't think I had good enough contact with wire to wick. My 3rd coil, made this morning is fairing quite well so far.

Probably not your problem though.  ;)

gennies can/do sometime pop and crackle - i think it comes down to amount of saturation of the wick
