dry hits on my genesis.
« on: August 02, 2013, 09:16:17 PM »

hi all im looking for some advice on mesh size and wire size.i use my genesis everyday and it works great most off the time but when i put a fresh charged battery in i get horrible dry hits for a wee while.if i tip the atomiser upside down its fine then it happens again so im thinking its not wicking properly .i use a 50 50 mix and 500 mesh and kanthal A-1 32 awg 0.20. normally when my charge drops a bit it works fine but id like it to work from the start without horrible dry hits.any advise would be apprecited.
cheers
craig ;)

Try 400 mesh, its what i use with my 50/50 and to be honest, it works a little too well and tends to flood at the slightest tip of the genny lol :)

Dont get me wrong, it also boils down to how good you are at wick making! But from what i know and tried, 400 for me is a good spot for 50/50

you know that sound like an electrical short on your coil. as i'm sure you know the genesis can be hmm a little crazy when it come to shorts moving up and down the wick. if you get a bad hit remove the juice from the tank and fire it to check for shorts. i hope this help you ;D
