~AGA-T - WTF?~
« on: March 04, 2013, 02:53:13 AM »

I have been using Genesis style atomizers for about 6 months now and it has been a good journey so far. I have a cobra, a did, a z-atty-u and an orion. Most of them are pretty pricey and have been extensively reviewed and appreciated. Recently, I was helping a friend out by ordering some cartomizers and batteries and i ended up adding an Aga-t to try out for myself.

The device looks great and comes with a glass tank which fits in perfectly, mine did. It took a while to set it up as when it came it was almost impossible to have the top of the coil to stop glowing red. So i tweaked it by adding some spring and washers I had lying around.  8) hmmmm.

After using it for a while I was very disappointed.  Because this 30$ device was working much much better continuously than any of my other far expensive mods has ever worked. EVER. It just works so nice. The flavor and vapour is excellent.

The plus points for aga-t -

1. glass tank.
2. great finish
3. no o-rings in the tank. Tank is easy to remove and clean.
4. good threads
5. big sized wick hole.
6. perfect sized air hole on cap. perfect!

On the downside -

1. thin glass tank.
2. tightening or screwing the device in battery mod may lead to opening and leaking of the tank.
3. requires some modification
4. take much longer time to setup then like a z-atty-u
5. Not as sturdy as a cobra.

if you do it you'll need to either put the screw back in the filling hole,,or use a U-wick,,otherwise it will piss out juice every where,,do either of those and jobs a good un,,

i got an aga-t2 the other week and am amazed at the quality compared to the kinds of stuff that would cost the same only a few months ago. still prefer my spheroids tho for complete hassle-free-ness and a pretty similar vape

but ofc u can buy 3 or 4 aga-t's for the price of one spheroid  :P

Seems like the top coil having a hot spot is a common problem.
I too experienced this and after a little tinkering found an easy solution.
Looks like the +'ve post is a little too far from the wick, causing the coil between wick and post to glow red, leading to a burn out.
Before making the coil, just bend the top part of wick towards the +'ve post to shorten the distance.
Fire it up on low voltage to check for hot spots and adjust if necessary.
After a few pulse firings at low volts which carbonises the coil/ wick contact - fires up a treat.
Also don't wrap the coil too tight around the wick. Enough to make contact but do not strangle the wick.
Now vaping like a champ!
Best £20 spent. (& I've spent a lot!!).  ;D

Someone has just joined the ranks of the Elite.
I even got my Ever so Shiny Lavatube out for the occasion!
And have my Aga-t On top.
Oh Yes.... Reb has a Genny and its working first time.  ;)
(To be sung to a Russian Army Marching Tune).
