ikarus hybrid started heating up battery
« on: January 31, 2013, 01:33:01 AM »

:o    Hello everyone first post ( go easy on me)

Have just started to get into the Genesis atomizers & bought a Ikarus Hybrid about 2 weeks ago , after slight learning curve i was really enjoying it and then ....

All of a sudden the firing button started  to cause the whole mod to heat right up & the battery is really hot to the touch,

It almost appears as if the switch firing pin is sticking to the base of the battery &  i dont know what has happened

Hope that makes sense & any advice would be appreciated ,

remove the coil ... if it still does the same, then you've at least isolated the problem to being solely with the mod.

Hi there,

I'm having a similar problem .. My ikarus fire button warms up pretty quickly after 10-ish drags. I got a feel that it's shorting its circuits.

Currently I'm using a 3/4 wrap on a kanthal a1 28 awg wire.

Can someone help ?

then i'd suspect it would heat up drastically and almost instantly if there was a fault ...

Well, I'm not sure where the fault lies .. It's really frustrating. Tried to recoil, re do the wick. The fire button still warms up after drags .. Tried to isolate the issue.. But couldn't understand what could have caused it. :-[

and jmalco buddy, sorry to hijack your thread  :D
