PG Exhale volume
« on: May 15, 2012, 10:59:51 PM »

Hello people

Was wondering whether someone could explain why I get a great exhale from pre-mixed PG juice and yet absolutely hopeless exhale from homemade PG juice? Are PG juices actually PG/VG mixes or have I purchased crap PG (got it from Liberty Flights)?

I cant really answer this as I have only ever bought VG or VG/PG 50/50 premixed.....At a guess their flavourings might be in a VG base. And they might use VG to cut the nicotine. other than that I dont know.

i made the same mistake with my first pure pg mix....really bad vapour...put some vg in it and its normal....and yes nearly all pre mixed juices are a mix of pg-vg.

Thanks a lot for the info. I'll give a 80/20 PG/VG mix a go. I'm vaping a Rok Star which due to it wick system recommends PG only. I thought that it would be wise to use either a 5% distilled water or alcohol mix to offset the extra thickness of the VG component. Since I'm after a  hefty tobacco/cigar flavour I was wondering whether  substituting whisky for vodka might be an interesting idea. I would be curious to know whether anyone has tried this or has any experience of the benefits of alcohol over distilled water especially with an atomiser using a wick.

When they say pg only what they really mean is not to use pure vg as it wont wick...you wont have any problems with a pg. vg mix.
