The bass player and drummer come from the town I'm from in France (Nice) ...

In my younger days, I used to spend hours in a small local club watching the drummer and jammed with Jean-Marc (the bass player) a few times too ...

Amazing musicians ... like me, they look a bit worse for wear today!

This is a great song from a great album. Takes a minute before it really gets going.

This a bit of a long story ... DT had a habit of playing a full album from one of their favourite bands from the country there were in when doing a 2 nighter ... a few years before, I saw them at the Astoria (now sadly gone) and they played the full "Number of the beast" album!

... Anyhow, some years later, they got this new (genius) keyboard player (Mr Jordan Rudess) and wrote a whole album based around a song from their 2nd ("Metropolis, Pt. 1: The Miracle and the Sleeper") ...

The album was awesome ( "Metopolis Pt2: Scenes From a Memories" ) and they took it on the road and recorded a live album and DVD (incidentally, they had to pull the live CD as it came out early September 01 and had a picture of the twin towers on fire on the front cover!)

The live album/DVD featured amazing gospel singer: Theresa Thomason and here is an extract ...

... A few years later, one evening, I got an email saying DT was doing 2 nights at the Hamesmith Odeon some months later. At the time, I said to Mrs B: "they are going to play the whole of 'Dark Side of The Moon' with Theresa on the 2nd night and do 'the spirit carries on' as an encore"  ... she replied: "lol- you hope!"

I booked tickets and we stayed in a hotel off Tottenham court road, saw DIO filming his "Holy Diver" DVD and Tower of Power the next day at the Astoria ... then, 2 amazing nights with DT ...

This was filmed on the 2nd night ...

... I am sure you can see me and Mrs B. shedding a few tears somewhere on that video

(sadly embedding is disabled so you'll have to watch on YT)

edit: Sorry if my story sent you to sleep! lol

I don't think I've ever heard Brand X, brilliant. How did I not know of them? I have no idea.

I didn't see that, I'd have been delighted if I had.
I know he is a big Magma fan
This vid is 45 minutes but worth setting the the time spare for it, the entire Magma MDK album played live. Probably my favourite album at the moment.

Now I'll watch the DT clips.

I am originally French and Christian Vander is one of my heros!!

An extra-terrestrial on earth and invented Magma's own language: "Kobaïan"

I have seen them live MANY times!

Outstanding!!
