Bulli arrived today
« on: March 05, 2012, 08:06:02 PM »

Got home from work, and there was a little german packet. Good delivery time since I only bought it about 6 days ago.

Watched Scott's vid, and tried making my first coil. Then put it on an ego battery and...... well, it was underwhelming to be honest. I guessed I probably used too much wire, and wound it too loose, so the resistance is rather high. Not good on an ego battery.

Try number two, used less wire, 4 turns, and that seems a little better. Still not masses of vapour, but a bit more taste. Semmed a little dry though.

Step three, sort out the dryness. Made another "spike" but tried not to go so flippin' tight this time, to give it a chance to actually wick. That improved things a bit more. Still not fogging up the room like Scott and Strve seem to do, but slowly improving.

Ok.... try out a radical step four. Pulled the fibreglass completely out of the spike wick, and then oxidised it with blue flame, pg, etc like people might do for other rebuildable attys. Despite using pg based liquid, this actually seems to give better vapour production. No leaks, no flooding, just a nicely wet coil, and more fog.

Now just left with one minor problem, it's kind of hard to put down....

Had mine a couple of weeks now and im still experimenting with it.
I'm getting masses of vapour but either getting a harsh taste or a wet sock, neither are nice but just about bearable.
Hopefully will get myself a Provari/Lavatube soon so I can adjust the voltage accordingly.
Will keep experimenting :)

I think it will work so much better once you can change the voltage accordingly... ;D

Have you tried oxidising the mesh? Apparently this helps loads, I never did it, but other users have reported success after doing so
