18650 torch mod
« on: May 10, 2011, 09:08:29 AM »

I've been working with some Thai guys in making mods with some success and some disasters.
I saw this torch modded and loved its design so i bought a couple of dozen ...lol. I'm an engineer but not great with electronics so this is my attempt at a mechanical mod (sort of) and its only a start.
The switch is mechanical and i had help with the board for the atty connection and light. It works great but i need to get a lighter spring as its a wee bit strong and noticable on the trigger finger after vaping on it for a while. When time allows i want to make the mod 100% mechanical which is not as easy as it sounds.

Thanks Steve,

I have a few mods and all have their good points but there's nothing better than something with your own touch.
Most mechanical mods are costly but when i get past the atty/battery connection end to fit with the battery length it will work out pretty cheap compared to other mass made 18650 mech mods. Just wish i had a lathe in the garage!!

I just don't get it . The shape is odd . The gold makes it look cheap , and the led's help it look cheaper . May I ask the circumference ?

Thanks for the replies except JIMBO!!.

Jimbo i can only think strange things why you would want to know the circumference with such a cheap, cheaper odd looking mod that you don't get .... where was that thread with a perfect square looking mod you made so i can slag it off!!

Now now,  you obviously put the pics up to see what others think and I told you, I was honest .

I wanted to know the circumference of the mod as it looks rather large . Might be uncomfortable in smaller hands .

Like I said good on you for making a mod . My comment was funny , your response was more funnier .

Your first comment was great and funny if you could have left it at that.
What i don't get is the questions if it's so cheap and odd.
Its not so big and roughly the same size as the omega without the rubber sleeve. If its for a but plug then maybe the box mod would be better suited.

I just try to make mods with a different twist like a cheap 18650 mechanical mod. The cheap gold connection is a 901 as it's easier to mod but a silver 901-510 is stuck on the top to allow the tank and to make it look prettier but i'm more interested in its performance to be honest

I was honest , I would have put it in my first post but I didn't want to tell the truth but it bug's me when I hold myself back from telling the truth as i see it  .

If someone had told me that my box mod was awful I would have taken it on the chin. I put the pics out there for comments .  I don't intend to sell mine , you intend to sell urs and my honesty will help you .

Yeah great a few patted you on the back , hell i did !! Put the bee back in ur bonnet and get on with making another mod , or take my advice and amend the one you have already made .

the gold is actually silver as i have 3 of them sat infront of me its made of aluminium and the rubber sleeve can be removed to expose an all aluminium body if thats your thing.

how about it naked ;)
